Will
the Rennacs Scanner work on American, Japanese, Korean, Australian and
European cars made in ALL countries?
YES. The Rennacs Scanner is designed to work equally well on your locally
assembled American, Japanese, Korean, Australian and European vehicles,
as well as on ANY variety of new or import vehicles.
What about OBD ii (OBD2) / EOBD?
The Rennacs Scanner will read codes and live data from 100% of American,
Japanese, Korean, Australian and European vehicles with OBD2 / EOBD.
OBD2 started in 1996 in the USA and EOBD started in 2001 for the
UK.
What kind of Computer / Laptop do I need to run the Rennacs Scanner
on?
The Rennacs Scanner UniPlug and Manual Code Reading software
will run on ANY computer / laptop capable of running Windows XP,
7 or Vista.
What
does the Rennacs Scanner do?
The Rennacs Scanner speeds up your diagnosis of vehicle problems by
allowing you to quickly and easily access the diagnostic fault codes
and live data found in the vehicles onboard computer memory. (It
generally takes less than 3 minutes to perform a test).
It
decodes the diagnostic codes and displays them in words on your
Computer screen with the code number and a full description of the
vehicle self diagnostic faults.
The Rennacs Scanner is also ideal for helping to find those frustrating
intermittent vehicle faults.
It
will extract codes that are stored in the vehicle computer memory
even after the fault symptoms have stopped (generally when you are
getting the vehicle into your workshop!).
Another
powerful use of the Rennacs Scanner is to produce a "Condition Report"
of the vehicle for your customers. You can print this report directly
to your normal office or workshop printer (even onto your standard
letterhead if you desire!) The "Scan All Systems" feature
speeds up and simplifies the process of checking all codes in the
vehicle.
Great
for pre-purchase and pre-holiday checks, or for your customers who
desire that bit extra on a service or tuneup. Printouts are the
perfect way to justify an Rennacs Scanner machine charge.
The
Live Data feature is perfect to help isolate and diagnose faults
indicated by the fault code reading.
How does the Rennacs Scanner work?
The Universal Plug (UniPlug) plugs directly into the 16 pin
OBD2 / EOBD style diagnostic socket under the dash to read and erase
fault codes and read live data.
As
long as you can find the diagnostic connector (the Rennacs Scanner shows
you where it is) and you know the Year and Make of the vehicle you
can read the codes!
For
example the Rennacs Scanner system will read the codes and data from
a Subaru EFI system automatically whether its a bizarre Japanese
import or a locally assembled model. It makes your life much easier!
Does the Rennacs Scanner ERASE / CLEAR fault codes?
YES. The UniPlug system automatically erases the codes for you.
What is on the Rennacs Scanner PRINTOUT?
The Rennacs Scanner Printout will display your garage name, the registration
/ license plate number of the vehicle, the customers name and the
operator of the tool, plus a list of the fault codes found, with
the number of the code and the code description.
For
example: code P1212: Airflow meter or circuit. If there are NO fault
codes present, the Rennacs Scanner will printout the "No fault codes
present" message. Ideal for before and after testing and diagnosis
of vehicles.
You
can also print and save the Live Data results
How does the Rennacs Scanner connect to the vehicle?
The Universal Plug (UniPlug) plugs directly into the 16 pin
OBD2 / EOBD style diagnostic socket under the dash to read and erase
fault codes.
The
PC system has a 10 meter long cable that runs from the USB port
of your computer to the vehicle under test.
.
How long does an Rennacs Scanner test take?
The vehicle determines the speed of communication. It can take
on average around 30 seconds, to greater than 2 minutes for some
vehicles. The speed of your computer will not make any difference
to the code reading time.
What range of vehicles does the Rennacs Scanner
read from?
The Rennacs Scanner reads from vehicles 1983 to 2010 for American,
Japanese, Korean, Australian and European vehicles.

Transmissions, Air Bags, and , Ford and Holden Body Control.
